Bright and Bold Flower Prints

victoria beckham, target collaboration, portland blogger, flower print, vbxtarget, style blogger, neutral sneaker, target style, pdx style blogger, summer style, skirt, shirt, tee, blouse

Usually I am a neutral kind of gal, but when the Victoria Beckham for Target launched, I had to get this matching flower print shirt and skirt and wear it! I mean why not? Prints are a trend right now and I say if you're gonna wear a loud print, wear it excessively and be proud!
The pattern reminds me of the sixties and well, that's one of my fave eras. I especially like the bright colors and the black piping on both the skirt and the shirt. You can wear these two things together, as I have and I paired it with my vela sneakers that can neutralize the outfit. You can also choose to wear them as separates. They are very cute styled by themselves. I would wear the skirt with a cute solid colored top and some cute sandals while the shirt can be styled with a jean skirt or good ole' ripped jeans for a more "rebel" flower child effect. What do you think? Would you wear a loud print like this? Leave me a comment!!

Spring Shopping Downtown Portland at WM Goodshop

It's always a treat to go shopping downtown. There's so many cute little shops but I especially love WM Goodshop. I first learned about them through the amazing world of instagram (yay for social media) and instantly fell inlove with the vibe and the products in their store. Right away, I gravitated towards house things and of course shoes, you can't leave out shoes. I've been really into casual sneakers lately and I've been on the hunt for a really soft blush color. This one really caught my eye and I had to have it. Hoping to have more warmer days so I can use it more with dresses and shorts too! I'm also practicing the art of not having "too much" and just really buying a few things that I really love (thanks to my partner, he has been on the minimal side since I can remember). These handmade ceramics just really caught my eye. They are beautiful and the colors are perfect to go with anything. I don't care to match my plates and things, I'm weird I know but I go by colors. So these are perfect!

How To Stay Organized with JORD Watches

jord wood watch, wood watches, spring style, spring accessory, style guides, spring blooms, portland style blogger, the ptown girls, pdx style, organization,

Hello everyone! I'm Maynard and I'm taking over The P. Town Girls for this post. You might know me from behind the lenses taking March's photos for her blog. Besides enjoying photography and traveling, I'm also in my second year of nursing school. And if you've met someone trying to be in the medical field, or college for that matter, being organized is key to make sure we all survive. Am I right? I have so much going on with working, going to school, and making time for my hobbies that not being planful and being aware of your schedule is not an option. Here are some tips that helps me survive my busy lifestyle. Hopefully this helps you as well.

jord wood watch, wood watches, spring style, spring accessory, style guides, spring blooms, portland style blogger, the ptown girls, pdx style, organization,

1. Be calm and set realistic goals for the week.
This is very important. If you are not calm, this can create anxiety and therefore nothing can be accomplished. It also helps writing these goals down and being able to "cross out" what's done. It gives me great feeling to be able to look at my list and see what I have accomplished for the week. I don't know about you but I'm a visual person. So seeing things help a lot.

jord wood watch, wood watches, spring style, spring accessory, style guides, spring blooms, portland style blogger, the ptown girls, pdx style, organization,

It might sound very tedious, but having the right tools to be organized is key. I love to write in my planner and color coordinate my tasks between school, work, and life ( I have to have some fun). I also have a watch to keep time for when it's time for me to go. You can't depend on your phone all the time. What if it rans out of batteries? This one from Jord is really helpful. It's a chronograph watch that has a timer to keep me in check!

jord wood watch, wood watches, spring style, spring accessory, style guides, spring blooms, portland style blogger, the ptown girls, pdx style, organization,

3. Back UP!
For me, I keep organized by having a back up! You never know what can happen.  Also, an organized back pack or purse is helpful for making sure that where ever you go, you have what you need. I mean it's nice having all of the electronic devices, but writing things down is also a great way to stay organized.

The one accessory everyone is wearing this Spring!

photos by: Nikki De Leon
Going through social media, there was definitely one accessory that everyone is rocking during fashion weeks: The belt. They are super on trend at the moment, they come in patterns, different textures, and the buckles. Thanks to Gucci and that GG logo, the belt trend is everywhere during winter and I'm not surprise that it's going to trickle down into spring.
Am I a belt person? No. Not really. Well, I used to wear them a lot growing up because when I was a young adolescent, I had long legs but was super teenee that my jeans would fall off without them. So I had to wear a belt. I liked how they looked, but for some reason, they were uncomfortable to wear. So for the longest time, I avoided wearing belts until I found one that actually fits. Enter brand Embrazio.  When their company rep, Jen contacted me, I instantly fell involve with their amazing leather handbags and clutches (never thought of the belt). More on the beautiful totes in another post. So when they told me that they would throw in a belt for me to style, your girl over here was excited! More excited to give this accessory another chance. I mean, it's trending at the moment so why not.

They had some awesome designs on their website, I couldn't make up my mind but I ended up with the Perforata in dark brown with a gold tip. I'm truly amazed at how they fit! The unique curved design is so comfortable and it doesn't leave any gaps in the back. I'm more impressed at how comfortable it is and it just sits right on my hip without hitting any bones. It's seriously way better than a straight belt. I mean, how did I not know that this stuff existed? Shout out to the founders and owners of Embrazio, Stehpanie and Scott! Not only did you make something so useful and comfortable, you also had real people in mind! And this belt is classic. What are your thoughts on belts? Let me know in the comments below!

Very Nice to meet you Glossier.

product review, glossier, balm dot com, portland blogger, lifestyle blogger, make up, skincare, giveaway, freebies,

I'm for sure living in another universe because how the hell have I not used Glossier before? Someone tell me I'm seriously slippin'! This is what I've been needing in my busy, crazy, wonderful mom life! I actually found out about it going through someone's instagram feed. You know when you "explore" and take a look at other people's page, things  that might interest you. Soon enough their photo got my attention and the next thing I know, I was looking obsessively at all things Glossier on YouTube for like two days then ordering the next. I wanted to order everything but you know, yo girl has to follow a budget so I opted for the things that I wanted to try first. Okay let's get into my first impression. Let's start with packaging.

First of all, I'm impressed with how fast the package got delivered. It took less than a week and the email confirmation was direct and very easy to track your package. The box came neatly packaged with the brand sealed outside. When I opened the box, my goodies were neatly packed inside a pink plastic little clutch (with bubble wrap lining) to protect the goods. Inside, I also saw stickers, super cute, and a poster. The merch itself has a simple design. Straight to the point and you know exactly how to use it. Now onto the actual products.

product review, glossier, balm dot com, portland blogger, lifestyle blogger, make up, skincare, giveaway, freebies,

Rose Balm dot Com
Out of the three products I ordered, this one was my favorite. I'm a little biased because I'm a big fan or rose everything but this salve didn't leave my lips super sticky at all. The smell doesn't bother me at all, (again, I'm rose gal so I don't mind)It has a matte feel to it. I use mine on my cuticles as well. My hands get really dry during the winter. This balm comes in 3 other flavors. A few has a tint in them.

product review, glossier, balm dot com, portland blogger, lifestyle blogger, make up, skincare, giveaway, freebies,

Perfecting Skin Tint in Dark
For someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup or doesn't know how to really put on makeup, the perfecting skin tint is perfect for someone like me. Since I've done my research, I knew ordering this product that it's not meant to cover your flaws but is made to even out your skin tone leaving you with a natural looking skin and dewy finish. I personally love this because I'm not looking to wear a ton of foundation for everyday but I want to even out my facial squinting and have a more "ready" look for work. I also like the watery formula, it's like putting lotion on your face. It's very light. Now, you have to put on moisturizer before you put this on, otherwise it's going to look really cakey.

product review, glossier, balm dot com, portland blogger, lifestyle blogger, make up, skincare, giveaway, freebies,

Vitamin C Serum
Mama over here hasn't had enough sleep so when, I saw that they had some serums for glowing skin, I immediately clicked add to cart! Now it claims you can have glowing skin overtime. So far, I like how it feels on my skin. I have very sensitive skin so after washing my face and applying this, I was afraid that my skin would react differently but it was fine! I'm gonna have to update you on what it's doing after a while.

Overall thoughts? I've been using the products for a couple of weeks now, and I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I've been telling people about it, hell, I feel like I should be telling everyone, even some random peeps on the streets (nah, that might be too cray) but I'll just rave about it here!

Oh and did I mention that I've partnered up with one of my blogger friends Elora to give one lucky winner a Phase 2 Kit!!! Woot, that includes their Boy brow (one of the things that are on my cart at the moment ready to purchase, their Stretch concealer, and the Generation G lip tint of your choice. If you want to know the rules CLICK HERE FOR INFO!!

The winner will be announced on Valentine's Day and will be messaged through Instagram! Good Luck you guys!!

Ruffles are showing up everywhere and that makes me so happy because I've been a big fan of that trend from when I was a little girl. My mom used to buy me these matching outfits with the shift having ruffle bibs. It's funny how fashion recycles so much and growing up, I was thinking I would never be caught dead wearing such thing, but now I don't mind rocking the trend at all.
Who would have thought that ruffles that were popular in the 1920s and 1930s used by flamenco dancers would be one of the emerging trends this season? What do you think of the ruffle trend? Would you wear it?

Okay, okay I'm a little late but seriously, how can I skip this awesome bomber jacket when it's not only velvet but it has embroidered patches on it! Duh....no brainer right? I was already a big fan of the bomber jackets a couple of years back and when I was varsity on the cheer leading squad (please don't judge me) and we wore those Letterman jackets and felt so cool to wear them around back in the 90s. And can we talk about the color? I think this bomb-er jacket {get it? lol} is perfect for just a casual look or you can style it up with a skirt or overalls! Have you tried the bomber jacket trend? What are your favorite pairings?

You know when you're cleaning out your closet and there's a few clothing items that you know you've had for more than two years but it looks so good on you it's hard to let go? That's me with the these pair of grey jeans from Old Navy! I know, I know you're probably thinking, girl, that's Old Navy, they have that ALL the time. Well, I've tried their other gray jeans and nothing seems to fit right so here I am again, jumbling out my closet so that I can post something with the damn gray jeans! So far success! This color is just so versatile let alone, the perfect gray color that I like. I paired it with a good ole plaid cardigan (feels like a blanket) that I got as a gift, black Chelsea booties and a black shirt. Simple dressing at its finest!

Happy New Year and December 2016 Favorites

2017, december 206 favorites, blogger, portland blogger, lifestyle blogger, theptowngirls, bruno mars, farm steady bagels, maple holistic, comotomo,

Happy New Year! I feel like 2016 went by too fast but I'm not mad. I'm looking forward to a brand new year with my family and friends. I know I have been away from the blog for a while but the holidays and having a brand new baby always gets the best of me. I'm excited for what the new year will bring and I have a few resolutions I'm trying to keep up with along the way.
With that being said, I wanted to round up my faves from last month.

Food
Bagels are my jam! It doesn't help that I work right next door to a bagel shop and their bagels are the bomb so I went on a bagel eating spree during december ( I know lots of carbs but hey I'm loosing about 1,000 calories from breastfeeding, mama's gotta eat)! So my partner suggested we should make our own bagels. We got this kit from Farm Steady. We haven't tried it yet but hoping this will be good. I'll let you know how it goes.

Beauty
This is the first time that I've ever experienced post partum hair loss. It is really crazy let me tell you! Besides clogging the tub (like all the time), I'm also experiencing dry scalp to top it off. So my friends over at Maple Holistic suggested I use their tea tree shampoo to help with the dry scalp. This shampoo smells so good and it immediately worked its magic on my scalp. It is also sulfate free and BPA free. Now that's a plus! They also have other hair and skin care products on their site that I would like to try. Now I just have to figure out how to deal with that hair loss...any suggestions, let me know in the comments down below! Oh FYI, you can get free stuff from them here.

Fashion
It's been freezing in Portland lately, that good winter accessories are a must! I have been rockin' my Steven Alan beanie this whole time. It's soooooo soft and it keeps my head so warm, I don't even know what else to say besides I should've gotten another one.

Music
Bruno Mars, you're the man! No need for explanation, his new album rocks!

Random
I am done with my teething baby. Done. I mean, besides the drooling and the biting down on my nut nur, I'm so over the grumpiness that comes with it too. I feel so bad for my little one, he is chewing on anything to make his gums feel better. Since we already use Tomo Como products for when I have to pump and use the bottle, we wanted to try their teething toy and let me tell you that company knows what they're doing! The teether is designed to look like fingers but not long enough that they can choke. It's also easy for my little guy to hold on to!

Have you tried any of what I've mentioned? Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!

UNTIL THE NEXT ONE,

Birchbox November

birchbox, beauty subscription, mail, shop style collective, fashion and lifestyle blogger,

I have heard or Birchbox before but I never had the chance to try it out. I tried many beauty subscription boxes before and honestly I got so busy that the goodies that I got was just forgotten and not used. I always end up giving it away. But the one thing that I love about subscription boxes, is the excitement I get when I open the box and discover something new! It's like christmas times two for me let me tell you! When Shopstyle Collective and Birchbox reached out and have me try their November box, I couldn't say no. Who would right?

Anyway, I got my box delivered a couple of days ago and I had to see what was in it pronto! First of all, if you have no idea what the heck I'm talking about, Birchbox is a beauty subscription box where you can get up to five beauty samples for only $10 a month ( I sound like a radio ad haha) When I received the box, I thought the pink outer box was the actual box but then to my surprise, inside was a cuter box that had all of my goodies! When I opened the box there was a card that had all the info for the items inside. This box was all about the "Finishing Touch". Brownie points for the packaging alone! Now on to the actual products.

Ardency Inn
Modster Smooth Eyeliner $20 Full Size
Even though this eyeliner wasn't full size, I don't mind because I don't use eyeliner often but when I tried it out, it did glide on smooth and it didn't rub off right away.

Balance Me
Tinted Wonder Eye Cream $38 Full Size
Love this eye cream y'all! Now I don't know if the tint actually matches my skin tone (I have brown skin) but it didn't look too bad and I like the fact that it's light not too heavy and pretty good coverage.

Number 4th
Jour d' Automne Smoothing Balm $30 Full Size
I'm not that into hair products really so I didn't bother trying this one. I'll just probably pass it on to the bestie. Sorry.

Benefit
They're Real Mascara $24 Full Size
Okay, now I've always used benefit mascaras so I loved that I got this! I love the formula, I love the brush and it doesn't clump!! WINNER!!!

Juliette Has A Gun $100-$135 Full Size
Not a Perfume
Obsessed with this fragrance! I might have to ask santa for this during the holiday!! I love the light scent. It's simple and not over powering.

That pretty much sums up my Birchbox experience! Have you tried subscribing to Birchbox before? What did you think? I think I might have to just get back into the beauty box subscription wagon!

Simply Earth Essential Oils

simply earth, essential oils, product review, the ptown girls, portland lifestyle blogger, pdx blogger

When I was pregnant with my second child, I was really into scents. I always loved candles but never tried essential oils before. A lot of my friends really liked it so when I was gifted a box from Simply Earth, I couldn't refuse!
In the box that I received, there were five essential oils, a recipe book, a mason jar with ribbons, and two bottles. All you need to get started! The box that was sent to me is for the holidays so my daughter and I were really excited to try the recipes. It made our whole apartment smell like christmas! The oils were 100% pure and you only need a little but it goes a long way. The recipe booklet tells you exactly how much to put on  and there were some clever ideas that were in there as well. The box cost $39 a month which is actually a good deal in comparison to buying individual bottle of oils from the store that could totally add up! It's fun that they have a theme every month! It could be cleaning, beauty and bath recipes, and many more creations!

simply earth, essential oils, product review, the ptown girls, portland lifestyle blogger, pdx blogger

Not only is Simply Earth a family owned business,  they also love to give back to the community. 13% of their profit goes to organizations that are fighting to end human trafficking. I'm actually impressed with the product quality. The only cons is that packaging could have some improvement. When I received the box, a few of the oils leaked a little.  Something like this would be great as a present especially that the holidays are upon us! Have you tried Simply Earth essential oils yet? What are your thoughts? Share them in the comment below!!
